It’s no surprise that these costumes are at the top of everyone’s wanted list this year. Classic Halloween costumes will always be a hit, like the black cat, vampire, or witch, but pop culture influences costumes each year. Check out this year’s top costumes and how to do them yourself.
The top costume for this year is any Batman character, but Harley Quinn is definitely our favorite. Her sassy attitude is so much fun! The 2016 movie Suicide Squad was released on August fifth here is the U.S. In the box office; it has made over 730 million dollars. Harley Quinn joined the DC gang in 1992 in Batman: The Animated Series.
A witch getup is a classic costume choice. There are several types of witches, so you can essentially be whatever kind you want. You can be anything from sexy to evil. Witches are associated with Halloween because way back when, “witches” would gather twice a year for the changing of the seasons and to use their black magic. They came together on April 30, and you guessed it, October 31.
Another classic costume choice! Animal costumes are usually easy to create with accessories and a little bit of makeup.
One of the most popular choices in animals for Halloween is the black cat. Black cats have a reputation associated with Halloween because a long time ago, people believe that witches would turn themselves into black cats to roam the streets.
Another popular animal costume is the bunny. While some people might assume that we are talking about bunnies associated with a mansion, we are focusing on the furry little friends. You can create a bunny look in under 10 minutes.
This popular animal always makes a debut during Halloween. You could go all out and give yourself spots all over, or you can make a subtle look.
Superheroes of Any Kind
This excludes Batman characters because they took the top spot. These are any other DC or Marvel heroes.
Yes, Deadpool falls into the superhero category, no matter how many times he crosses the line in the movie. Deadpool was released in February of 2016. So far, it has made over $760 million in the box office.
Wonder Woman made her appearance in the movie Batman vs Superman this year. (The movie made over $870 million.) Next year, she is slated for her own spot in the limelight! Her own movie will hit theatres in 2017.
Vampires are closely related to Halloween because of ancient legends claiming that some people sucked the blood of others. Dracula, published in 1897, created the sophisticated vampire. These life-suckers are often portrayed as sexy and mysterious, but they can also be quite terrifying. The Twilight movie series took these legendary people to the next level.
