The advanced cut and color curriculum is taught after the inspiration and Bellus STAR cutting phase of the Cosmetology course providing the student time at the end of their course to enter our state board readiness program focused on preparing them to successfully pass the state board and obtain their license.

Our inspiration to create this course came from the desire to assist both our students and salon owners. By hiring our graduates, the time salon owners spend training them as assistants would be substantially shortened. In some cases, the salon owner would hire our graduate directly into a full-time station position. This process increases the graduate's income potential right away while lowering the salon owner's costs of training. Our academies sponsor student competitions on a national level. We have won first place in Sassoon Connection Competition for both 2009 and 2010 as well as Trendvision for 2010.

Our academies, under the leadership of Artistic Director , have a Master Artistic Team (MAT) that has created three collections to date. These collections have gained national recognition in industry publications.

Travel the World

We are the only west coast ITEC approved academy providing graduates the opportunity to receive an international certificate. ITEC is an international examination board that offers a variety of qualifications worldwide. Graduates who successfully pass the ITEC examination are certified to work in over 33 countries. The curriculum offered at our academies exceeds the ITEC standards and prepares students for the ITEC test.

ITEC qualifications are supported by the professional beauty and spa industry and are easily transferable nationally and internationally. The certification will allow for employment on cruise ships that travel internationally as well as employment in spas throughout Europe, Canada and Australia. Professional Instructors

The Advanced Cut & Color module of the Cosmetology 103 course is led by the academy's internationally acclaimed Artistic Director, Diego Raviglione. Diego has been a part of the academy for three years and previously was the advanced educator and Artistic Director for Graham Webb. He led the twice a year creation of the Graham Webb collections twice a year that have been published and recognized internationally. Diego also represents Wella, the academy’s color line as a Master Educator where he travels internationally to present and train professionals.

We partner with the top companies in product and color systems. This includes - P&G Professional, Wella Professionals for color and styling products, and Professional Sebastian. You’ll start out working with and learning how to sell dynamic product lines that will increase your future sales.
 

State Board Preparation

All of our instructional programs meet or exceed all of the requirements of the States of California and Kansas. We offer a mock board test that simulates the actual state board’s practical and written test for licensure. This is completed two months prior to graduation to allow students sufficient time to practice on any areas that they do not feel confident in.

Cosmetology 104 – Basic Cosmetology, Make-Up Artistry, and Advanced Cut & Color

This 1900-hour program combines our basic 1600-hour course, required for licensing in California, with our unparalleled 150-hour Advanced Cut and Color course and 150-hour Make-Up Artistry course. This makes us the only academies outside of New York and Los Angeles to offer a professional make-up course at this level to prepare you for a career working in top salons or a Hollywood set.
