Many salons and spas are adding make-up to their retail centers. Increasingly, salon and spa owners are requiring their professionals to have make-up artistry skills. This course can be added to our Cosmetology courses or our Esthetics courses or taken independently as advanced training.

According to the US Department of Labor employment is expected to grow faster than average at 17% over the projection period (2008-2018) for make-up artists as the demand for television programs, movies, and other entertainment will lead to new openings.

                                                 

Instruction includes both the theoretical and practical aspects of make-up artistry. Students become knowledgeable in all types of face and body art including correction make-up, runway, bridal, glamour, professional, photography, air-brush, camouflage and simple special effects application. The course culminates with a professional photo shoot to help the students start their personal professional portfolio and begin their career in the exciting field of cosmetics and make-up artistry.

Professional Kit

Graduates leave equipped with all of the professional brushes, M.U.D. make-up and artistry tools required to perform theatrical, airbrush and professional make up applications. This includes a Temptu professional airbrushing kit. Items in kit are subject to change at any time in order to keep current with industry trends and technology.

Esthetics 104 - Make Up Artistry, Basic and Master Esthetics

This 1350-hour program combines the 600 hours of basic skin care training required for state board licensing, 150 hours of makeup training utilizing the Makeup Designory (MUD) curriculum and 600 hours of the Master Esthetics program. The Make-Up Artistry program utilizes the world-renowned Make-Up Designory curriculum for this certification. The Make-up Artistry program is currently in the NACCAS approval process. We are the only academy outside of New York and Los Angeles to offer a professional make-up course at this level.
 

Cosmetology 104 - Make Up Artistry, Advanced Cut & Color and Basic Cosmetology

Go beyond basic cosmetology and let us groom you for a premier career in beauty and fashion. This 1900-hour program combines our basic 1600-hour course, required for licensing in California, with our unparalleled 150-hour Advanced Cut and Color course and 150-hour Make-Up Artistry course. We have partnered with the internationally acclaimed Make-up Designory (MUD) to offer their “Make-Up Artistry” training course. The Make-up Artistry program is currently in the NACCAS approval process. This makes us the only academies outside of New York and Los Angeles to offer a professional make-up course at this level to prepare you for a career working in top salons or a Hollywood set.
