How Long Does It Take to Graduate From Beauty School?

If you’re considering beauty school, you might be wondering just exactly how long it is going to take you to finish, graduate and head toward you dream career. The answer to how long it will take is not that simple. There are several things that can influence how long it will take you. Here are the top 4:

  • What program you’ve chosen
  • What schedule you have
  • Which state you’re in
  • What progress you’ve made

We’re going to be covering what the states of Kansas and California require in terms of educational hours in order to become a licensed professional. For minimum hour requirements in your own state for cosmetology, see here. For esthetics minimum requirements, see this resource. The actual calendar time that it takes will vary from student to student due to differences in schedule and progress, as well as the school they have chosen.

A Break Down of the California Requirements

Bellus Academy has 3 locations in California: Poway, Chula Vista and El Cajon. The state of California requires a certain amount of hours to become licensed in your program of choice.
