How to Become a Luxury Esthetician

February 14, 2017

In 2015, in the U.S. alone, 179 million people visited a spa, according to Statista. The numbers don’t lie; the spa world is a booming business, and we know why! Who doesn’t like to be pampered and fawned over? People everywhere enjoy days at the spa where they can leave feeling their very best. For estheticians, this love of luxury means something else: more potential jobs! If you’re interested in pursuing a career in esthetics, you should consider going a step further and look at getting an education in luxury services!

What Does a Luxury Esthetician Do?

A luxury esthetician is an esthetician that provides additional luxury esthetics services. These luxury services can include:

  • Eyelash extensions
  • Brow enhancements
  • Luxury body wraps
  • Aromatherapy
  • Advanced exfoliation
  • Light therapy
  • Aging and photo-damaged skin treatments
  • Acne treatments

Here at Bellus Academy, we offer advanced esthetics training that provides luxury and medical spa training.

Depending on where you work, you might be able to perform one or all of these services. Coming into the job market with advanced esthetics training on your resume can help give you an edge over the competition! Many luxury spas are looking for estheticians who can perform these types of services without having to be provided with additional training. It saves them time and money to hire an individual that is already trained.

Where Can They Work?

Luxury estheticians may have the opportunity to work in places like:

  • Spas
  • Luxury spas
  • Cruise ships
  • Brow bars
  • Lash bars
  • And many other amazing places!

How Do You Become a Luxury Esthetician?

Usually, when someone wants to become a luxury esthetician, they are interested in helping people with damaged skin. They are genuinely concerned about their client’s health and wellbeing. Luxury estheticians want to utilize additional esthetic services and advance techniques to help people with skin troubles feel beautiful! Luxury and medical spa techniques appeal to those who enjoy holistic-type treatments. Potential luxury estheticians are also wanting to continuously learn. As more services and trends arise, estheticians should always be learning the latest and greatest.

Our Esthetics 103 course is offered at our Poway and El Cajon campuses. Our Advanced Esthetics program is 900 hours and blends basic and luxury esthetics together. Most programs don’t offer students the chance to learn brow shaping and lash extensions in one course. We believe that we are a one-stop-shop for this type of training. It takes approximately seven months to complete this course if you attend the day course and nine months in the night classes.
