What To Expect At Your Admissions Appointment

Hello everyone! My name is Sarah Holmes and I am the Director of Admissions at Bellus Academy, Poway location. Let’s take some time to chat about your Admissions Appointment. I have had many prospective students tell me they were nervous about taking the first step and coming in to meet with me because they don’t know what to expect. Don’t be nervous! This is an exciting meeting! We get to discuss how to reach your goals.
First you will check in with the front desk and let them know you are here for an appointment with the admissions department. They will offer you Bellus’ signature spa water and take you to the relaxation area where you will sit and fill out a short form we call the “Let’s Get Acquainted” form. This form lets the Admissions Dept know a little bit about your background and what you want for your future.
You will then be greeted by an Admissions Representative and taken into the Admissions office. This is the time for you to ask all the questions you have. (I also recommend writing down your questions ahead of time so you don’t forget to ask something important) This is also the time where the representative will explain to you about all of our advanced training, placements, externships and Nationally Acclaimed School of the Year award!
After you have mapped out a career plan with your Admissions Representative you will then go over your Financial Aid options. Bellus Academy works with FAFSA, so grants and loans are available to those who qualify. Your Representative will explain in detail the steps needed to apply for Financial Aid. You then have the option of applying at home, online yourself or by scheduling an appointment and having a Financial Aid Advisor help you.
After you have your Financial Aid plan mapped out, your Admissions Representative will offer you a complimentary Service Card at our student Salon/Spa. We love for our prospective students to meet with our current students and see just how beauty has changed their lives!!!
Finally, we take you on a tour of the entire Campus. Showing you were you will be learning and meeting your new classmates. The entire staff and student body at Bellus is so welcoming you will feel part of the team right away!
According to the US Department of Labor employment in personal care and service occupations is anticipated to grow by 20 percent over the projection period (2008-2018), adding more than 1 million jobs. As consumers become more concerned with health, beauty, and fitness, the number of cosmetic and health spas will increase, causing an increase in demand for workers in this group. This is no surprise for industry professionals who are noticing consumers becoming more concerned with health, beauty, and fitness.
