Transferring from Regency to Bellus
Transferring to Bellus Academy
If you’re one of the students affected by Regency Beauty Institute closing, we are sorry. We understand this a difficult time for you as you make plans to transfer to another school to complete your education.
Topeka, KS students: Bellus Academy will be working with you to transfer your hours so that you can finish your education and get licensed. We have already received several calls from students from Topeka and we’d be happy to work with you.
WHAT YOU’LL NEED
- Photo ID
- High School Diploma or GED
- Transcript and Proof of Training from prior school (Regency will mail these to you the week of October 3)
WHAT YOU CAN DO NOW: ATTEND OUR OPEN HOUSE
Yes, there’s paperwork involved and yes, you’ll have to wait to get your transcripts. But what you CAN do is come into Bellus Academy (1130 Westloop Place, Manhattan, KS) for a school tour. We have an Open House specifically for transfer students at 11 am on Friday, September 30 and on Monday, October 3 at 11 a.m. If you’re unable to come you can set up a free school tour by calling 888-990-7094.
ASSESSMENT & EVALUATION
We will assess your transcripts to evaluate your transferred hours, reduced costs and kit cost. This will help determine how many hours you have left in your program with a new estimated graduation date.
FINANCIAL AID APPOINTMENT
Everyone has to meet with Financial Aid to discuss your options and possible benefits. Our team will look at payment plans, Title IV eligibility and VA benefits. To help expedite the process, you can go ahead and enter the Bellus school code into your FAFSA (016644-00).
ENROLL & PAY REGISTRATION FEE
You’ll need to sign our Enrollment Agreement and pay a $75 registration fee.
Bellus Academy has monthly start dates for day and evening classes. You can start as early as our next start date, which is Tuesday, October 25, depending on how many hours you have and how soon your transfer paperwork is completed. Bellus will work to place students in programs as quickly as possible, but we ask that you be patient during this transition.
