Bellus Academy’s Spa Nail Technician Program
Bellus Academy’s Spa Nail Technician program offers an in-depth, hands-on education designed to prepare you for a successful career in the nail and spa industry. While the State requires 400 hours to obtain a manicuring license, Bellus Academy’s Spa Nail Technician program has been designed to go beyond the requirements of the State Board by providing an additional 200 hours of advanced training. This additional, advanced training benefits students by providing spa treatment training which is critical for employment in luxury salons and spas.
As a student in this program, you’ll also have the opportunity to develop essential life skills, business strategies, and customer service techniques that can support long-term success. With a strong emphasis on hygiene, anatomy, product knowledge, and service excellence, this program equips future nail professionals with the confidence, creativity, and professionalism to work in salon, spa, or entrepreneurial settings.
What Will I Learn in Bellus Academy’s Spa Nail Technician Program?
The Spa Nail Technician program blends scientific knowledge, advanced technical training, and client-centered service to prepare students for success in today’s spa and salon industry. Students develop a strong professional foundation with a curriculum which includes in-depth scientific education covering infection control, safety and first aid, anatomy, skin and nail theory, related disorders and diseases, as well as the chemistry and electricity involved in nail services. In addition, students gain essential business training in goal setting, job search strategies, salon and spa ownership, retailing, retention, pre-booking, referrals, and increasing average ticket sales, while perfecting the service essentials that create exceptional client experiences. Our well-rounded curriculum will equip you with the technical expertise, business knowledge, creativity, and spa-level service skills you need for this ever-evolving industry.
Students in the Spa Nail Technician program receive comprehensive Nail Technology training, including instruction in the following areas:
- Natural Nails – Treatments, massage, polish application, manicures, and pedicures.
- Nail Enhancements – E-file techniques, gel overlays, acrylic, dip powder, hard gel, and proper maintenance and removal procedures.

Participation in industry competitions provides valuable real-world experience, builds confidence, and highlights their creativity on a professional stage. This year, five students in the Spa Nail Technician program participated in the Premiere Anaheim, an annual international event for beauty professionals. We are proud to share that one of our students took home 2nd place, while three others took 3rd place!
