Sonia Tabor Leads New Makeup Program
With the launch of Bellus Academy’s new Master Make-up Artistry Program, the makeup team at Bellus became Make-up Designory (MUD) certified and are ready to lead a group of students into MUD’s first-ever 602-hour program.
Sonia Tabor, Bellus Academy’s Lead Makeup Educator, is an accomplished makeup artist, serving as lead over Fashion Week San Diego’s runway makeup for the past five years. She’s a Bellus alum herself, having graduated from the Cosmetology program six years ago before becoming a makeup instructor. She continues to grow the department with her keen eye for fashion, love for photography and experience working with accomplished platform artists.
Sonia has had work published and featured in 944 Magazine, Revolt in Style, Lumbre, The G.O.O.D.S., Gothesque and On Makeup Magazine. She’s even the co-creator of Makeup State of Mind, an online tutorial community for makeup artists exclusive to Bellus Academy.
She has competed in several industry competitions and collaborated with Bellus educator Todd DaSilva for Wella’s TrendVision, where they took home silver in 2015 and were NAHA finalists.
Sonia has been instrumental in launching this new Master Make-up program and is excited to educate future makeup artists.
